Anavatanı Güney Afrika olan starliçe, gösterişli beyaz çiçekleri olan ve görünümü ile muza benzeyen bitkilerdendir. Bakımı oldukça kolaydır ve yazın dış mekanda da yetiştirilebilir. Ülkemizde turna gagası veya cennet kuşu olarak da tanınır. Starliçe (Stralitzia Nicolai) bitkisi yüksek nemi ve bol güneşli yerleri sever. Doğrudan güneşli veya yarı gölge yerlerde konumlandırılabilir ancak öğle güneşinin yakıcı etkisinden uzak tutulmalıdır. Çiçeklenme dönemi çok iyi bakılırsa şubat sonunda başlar ve yaz sonuna kadar devam eder. Starliçe bitkisi üç yaşından itibaren çiçek vermeye başlar ancak çiçeksiz olduğu dönemde de evinize ve ya işyerlerinize tropik bir hava getiren oldukça gösterişli bir bitkidir.

Standard – $15, delivery charge is free for orders over $50. For the same-day New York delivery service, please place your order before 2.00pm, Monday – Friday. For same-day New York delivery service on Saturdays, place before 10.00am.

Nationwide Delivery

Standard – $20. A next-day nationwide delivery service is available Tuesday – Saturday for orders placed by 2pm the previous day.

Care Instructions

Light

Moderate to bright light. No direct sun

Water

Water the center of the rosette and keep 1 in (2.5 cm) of room-temperature rainwater or distilled water in its urn (center of the rosette) at all times. Water soil just enough to keep the roots barely moist. Empty old water from the urn every week and promptly replace it with fresh water.

Temperature

Average to warm 65-80°F/18-27°C

Propagation

Cut off the pups when they reach 3 in (7.5 cm) tall and plant them in fresh, barely moist potting mix. Maintain high humidity for the pups for the first month.
